Kim Delaney, an American actor best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she won an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her part on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was born as the only girl of her homemaker mother and an executive in the United Auto Workers. Delaney lived most of her life with her four brothers. As a child she was aspired to become an official in the courtroom. However, after graduating from high school and moving in New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. Her first film role was as a teenager as a child in All My Children, a soap-opera from 1981. Delaney is a well-known actress who has been featured in a variety of television shows, and dramas. Delaney has not lived a successful or happy personal life. The gifted actress was struggling to overcome addiction to alcohol, and was married twice only to fall apart. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her only son.
